Hi! I'm Harriet, but most people call me Harry.

Trauma-informed personal trainer and AFN certified nutritional advisor.

I am happiest when I am outdoors and love hiking, cycling and walking amongst nature. I also find joy in weight-lifting and climbing, loving the sense of empowerment and strength they bring me. I don’t have limitless energy though and in my down time I like to cook, watch crime/thriller TV series and drink coffee with friends.

Harriet Flower Personal Training

I am passionate about movement and nutrition and how we can train and eat to build strength both physically and mentally.

However, it hasn’t always been this way. My history with exercise and food has been a bumpy ride. I developed severe Anorexia in my early teen years which later in life developed into Bulimia. I would hide away and binge and then extremely restrict my food or exercise excessively to ‘make up for it’.

I became completely disconnected from my body, disgusted by it and seeing it as something I needed to control. It was a horrible place to be and I saw no way out.

Luckily, I found a fantastic therapist who supported me to see that my body was never the problem, and that it had become the battleground for some much deeper issues. Once I realised this, and after a lot of hard work, I was able to heal.

Now I practice embodied and intuitive movement.

I know when my body wants to be challenged and pushed but also when it needs to rest and recover. Due to my experiences I practice weight-neutrality meaning that I believe health isn’t found in one type of ‘perfect body’ and looks different on every body.

I also operate in a space of radical inclusivity, free of any type of discrimination or judgement: fighting back agaisnt fatphobia, transphobia, homophobia, racism, ableism and sexism.

"I loved my training session with Harry. I’ve always wanted to get into weight lifting but just had no clue where to start. Harry took me through a routine and set me up with a plan for how to incorporate weightlifting into my workouts. She explained everything so accessibly and made me feel like a pro after just one session."

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before getting in touch.

Do I need to bring my own equipment?

Nope, all equipment will be provided. You don’t need to bring anything other than some water and yourself. Sometimes it can be nice to have a small towel incase you get sweaty.

What’s the difference between small group training and outdoor circuit training?

Small group training is more similar to 121 personal training. You will have an individual consultation, personalised plan for between sessions and weekly check ins with myself. We will also continually asses, reasses and review your progress in order to support your own goals. The difference to the 121 format however is that when training you will do it alongside 1-3 other teammates who share a similar goal.

Outdoor circuit training is more similar to a group fitness class you may have been to in a gym or park. The classes are delivered in pre-set formats rather than being tailored to your goals. That said you have a great amount of control during the class as to how hard or gently you want to push yourself.

Do I need previous experience?

Absolutely not, every body is welcome. All wild flower training services can be adapted to suit everyone from complete beginners to advanced movers and shakers. In the outdoor circuit training I will always give modifications to progress or regress the exercise so you have enough control to make the intensity and difficulty right for you. In small group training and 121 training we will spend time before discussing what experience you have so that I can develop a plan that meets you where you currently are.

What’s the difference between the gym confidence programme and 121 training?

On a basic level they are very similar in that in both services we will work together to develop an individualised and adaptable training plan designed to help you reach your goals. The difference is that in the gym confidence programme there will be additional emphasis on teaching you how to be fully independent in the gym setting. I will give you the tools, knowledge and support to follow programmes without my support, understand all the gym jargon and be able to walk into the weights area with confidence and a badass attitude.

How long are the outdoor circuit training sessions?

All classes are 1 hour long, including a warm up and cool down. I encourage you to arrive 5 minutes early so give you a chance to find a sport and allow me to check in with you and mke any adjustments I might need to take into account due to injuries or energy levels. I will always leave time afterwards to have a chit chat, catch up and discussion about any doubts or queries.

How long are the 121 and small group personal training sessions?

Sessions are normally 1 hour however I am aware that due to time or money constraints you may need them to be a little shorter. I will try my best to make sure we can work something out together so that these barriers don’t stand in your way of being able to exercise.

What would you recommend for a complete beginner?

100% come along to one of the group sessions, I will always offer variations so that everyone can participate regardless of their level. You will get a feeling for general vibe and ethos of wild flower training and then we can have a chat at the end to see what approach would be best for you. Alternatively, if you don’t feel ready for a class yet, book a discovery call with myself and we can take it from there.
